The Benue state government has declared Fridays as work free days beginning from today November 11.
This, they did inorder to enable civil servants begin harvest on their respective farms.
The state said her workers should use the last working day of the week for farming in the face of dwindling economy which has made it difficult for the administration to pay salaries.
This decision was made after Governor Samuel Ortom presided over a state executive meeting in the state.
A statement by the special adviser to the governor on media and ICT, Tahav Agerzua said the state executives already approved Fridays as work free days.
Agerzua who disclosed that it will take effect from November 11 to the end of January 2017, also noted that the council exempted some workers in the education sector, maintaining that the school calendar should be allowed to run normally.
